Hello

My name is Joshua and I am a product designer based in San Francisco. I currently work on the Data Platform team at Uber at where I design data and visualization products. My passion lies in bringing together both data visualization and product design to deliver critical insight and actionable intelligence. Tools I’ve worked on include data diagnostics, customer segmentation, operations automation, and application health tools. I’ve also supported internationalization, mobile release, maps, and experimentation tools.

Before I transitioned into product design, I was a graphic designer at Asylum where I did brand identity design, print, and wayfinding design. In my previous life, I was an interactive designer who loved creating cool Flash websites and apps. Collectively, my projects have included clients in Singapore, China, Vancouver, and London in both government and private sectors.

I graduated with a Master of Science in Data Visualization from the Parsons School of Design in New York, which is a multidisciplinary program that brings together visual design, computer science, statistical analysis, and ethical considerations of data analysis and representation. I also hold a first class Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Graphic and Media Design from the University of the Arts London in the UK.
